Gladys' grandparents were Swedish, she was born in Canada and came to the United States when she was a little over a year old. Dean's mother was German and his dad was Scotch-Irish.
- Tell us about your self
- Gladys was born in Alberta, Canada but moved to the United States when she was a year and a half. They lived in eastern South Dakota where her daddy was a farmer.
Dean's father was in the military so Dean was born in 29 Palms, California From California they moved quite a bit. When his dad got out of the military Mr. Beaty became a pastor and they lived in Indiana, Kansas, Iowa, South Dakota and Illinois. Dean went to school at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC then transfered to Pillsbury Baptist Bible College where he met and married Gladys. Dean finished college in Texas and became assistant pastor in Oak Lawn, Illinois. He later pastored several small churches in Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Indiana. After 25 years of pastoring we left to work in children's homes in North & South Carolina. We are retired and make our home in Mauldin, SC. We have been married 43 years.
When Dean retired from full-time ministry he started writing songs and poetry When he had his stroke in March 11, 2007 he was disabled. Writing poetry has become a very important part of his live.
OUR BUSINESS:
We bought a website in April of 2006 to help suppliment our retirement.
We started to sell Pepper Spray because Dean saw how effective it was when he experienced it in training for work at Prairie Correctional. The income from our website has become helpful since Dean had the stroke. I am able to work from home and still care for him.
Recently we decided to expand our site to include Home Security.
Our friends, the Willis, survived a home invasion on September 4th, 2007. This woke us up that this could happen to anyone. He is a 70 year old retired pastor. If you would like to read their story go to our website. http://www.peacemakerpepperspray.com/page/1279212

Thanksgiving Again

I Thessalonians 5:18 “In every thing give thanks:
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (KJV)
Thanksgiving day is almost here.
It comes around just once each year.
It's good we set this day apart,
But thankfulness should fill our heart.
Not once a year but all year long.
In prayer and praise and also song.

Our thankfulness to God we bring.

Magnify the Lord

Psalm 34:3 “O magnify the LORD with me,
and let us exalt his name together.” (KJV)
John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (KJV)
“O magnify the Lord with me...exalt His name together.”
Praise the Lord with thankful hearts in clear and cloudy weather.
This is the task of all His own; to lift God's name on high.

Trust

Job 13:15 “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him:” (KJV)
If you trusted God for the new birth,
Then trust Him too while here on earth.
If eternal life is in God's hands,
Then trust His wisdom in all He plans.
Or is your God just for after death;
Once you have taken your last breath?
Then God will show His mighty power.

It is Depressing

How depressing it must be
to go through life and never see
that there's a plan purposed for me
to live with God eternally.
By Christ's blood the way's been made.
Redemption's price by Him was paid.
I could never make the grade.
God did it all without my aid.
If you're not sure of eternity
then turn to Christ and bow your knee.

The Light at the End of the Tunnel
(God's Way is Best)

Does the light at the end of your tunnel
Seem like a million or more miles away?
Is the light that is flickering yonder
Like a candle for a child's birthday?
Sometimes the tunnel seems forever
